This Privacy Policy describes how Ascend AI ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our iOS application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Email address — collected when you create an account.
- Photos — you submit selfie photos for AI-powered facial analysis. Photos are sent to our AI provider for processing and are not permanently stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
Information Generated by Your Use
- Analysis scores and feedback — the results of each facial analysis, including your score, strengths, and improvement suggestions.
- Daily task and routine data — the tasks you complete and routines generated for you.
- Streak and activity data — your streak count and daily activity history.
- Account metadata — account creation date and last active timestamp.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data — standard analytics collected by Apple's platform and our service providers, including device type, OS version, and crash reports.
- Purchase information — subscription status and transaction history, managed by RevenueCat and Apple. We do not store or access your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the App
- Generate personalized facial analyses and daily routines
- Track your progress and streak history
- Process and manage your subscription
- Send notifications you have opted into (daily reminders, streak alerts)
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

Photos you submit are transmitted to OpenAI for analysis and are subject to OpenAI's data usage policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy policy if you have concerns about how image data is handled.
We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account through the App, all of your data — including your account, analyses, tasks, and routines — is permanently deleted from our systems. This deletion is complete and irreversible.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and portability — you may contact us to request a copy of your data.
- Deletion — you can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data.
- Notifications — you can enable or disable push notifications in the App's Settings screen or in your device's notification settings.
- Subscriptions — you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
